33 Things

Tomorrow is my 34th birthday. 33 was an amazing year for me. To celebrate that and kick off 34 on a good note, here is 33 things I’m grateful for as I turn 34:

  1. A little less than a year ago our beautiful Atticus was born and we were chosen to be his forever family.
  2. A little less than a year ago we found out we were pregnant for the 4th time.
  3. Our adoption of Atticus was finalized!
  4. Our sweet Truman was born, safe and sound.
  5. I have the most supportive, caring husband who is also the world’s greatest Dad.
  6. The health of our family.
  7. I have been a stay at home Mama for almost a year. It’s such a gift.
  8. The internet.
  9. I’ve met some amazing women online that I call friends.
  10. I get to go back to school in the Fall and I finally know what I want to be when I grow up.
  11. The few good friends that have been with me through it all.
  12. My husband has a good job that has allowed me to be with my kids every day.
  13. My husband is just as happy about me being home as I am.
  14. The sweet sounds my babies make.
  15. Baby smiles.
  16. The support of our families.
  17. Some really great neighbors that have become a part of our lives.
  18. We have a warm, safe home.
  19. We have food to eat.
  20. I have been able to breastfeed our youngest boy for his entire life so far.
  21. I have fun, talented artsy friends that I will get to see in a little over a month!
  22. The camaraderie between Moms that I finally get to be a part of.
  23. Getting out for walks with both boys as often as possible.
  24. Baby dimples. YUM.
  25. The dogs are really good with the kids.
  26. We have a newer car that runs good.
  27. Knowing that someday I will get to sleep all night again.
  28. My boys like to snuggle.
  29. The weather hasn’t been too horrible this winter.
  30. My mom comes to visit us about once a month (wish it were more though!).
  31. How much our families love our kids. It’s really special.
  32. We gained an extended family with our adoption.
  33. I love being a Mama even more than I thought I would.

Welcome 34…

Happy New Year!

A little late, but I have two good excuses. ;)

2010 will be a tough act to follow. We’ve had an amazing year. I’m so happy to be starting this year with our two sweet boys, and I’m looking forward to what the next year has in store for us.

For those of you still waiting on your sweet ones, I really, really hope 2011 is your year. Happy New Year, friends!

All I can say

2009…thank goodness that’s over.

On to 2010! Happy New Year, everyone! Wishing you peace and happiness in the coming year.

Goodbye and Hello

I can’t say that I’m sad to say goodbye to 2008. It’s been a hell of a year. After many months of thinking I would end the year the same way it began – in limbo, I am so relieved to be moving forward. Many disappointments this year, mostly relating to infertility. But there have been many good things too. I am married to the most wonderful person I have ever known. In November our country made a choice to believe in hope and change and in itself. I am comforted by the many connections I’ve made in blogland.

I have hope. And that is the best gift I can think of. Bring it on 2009. We are so ready.

Happy New Year! Thank goodness for new days, new years, and new chances.

Happy Holidays

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas or Happy (belated) Hanukkah. For all the girls that are TTC, I am hopeful that we will all find our babies this year. I’ll be toasting to that tomorrow.

Peace and Love.

Happy Thanksgiving

Now that I’m out of my funk. :) I just wanted to wish everyone (in the US) a very Happy Thanksgiving. I have many things to be thankful for this year. My fabulous husband, my family and friends, we have a place to live that is warm and we have food to eat,and I have found a wonderful, supportive community that gets bigger all the time.

Thanks for stopping by today. I am thankful for you.

Love.

Our weekend…

was filled with family time, friends, relaxing, fireworks and good weather. We had a visitor (my father-in-law). It was really nice to get to hang out for a few days. We fell right into a morning routine of showers, chatting over coffee at Starbucks (decaf for us, of course), and running errands. It was lovely.

We spent the 4th with the Watts at their house for dinner. The boys played with fireworks (which turns my husband into a 12 year old – so cute) and the drum set. Then we came back to our house for cupcakes and the local fireworks display. It was a good time.

Sara (Dave’s neice) joined us on Sunday, which we spent at the Farmer’s Market, taking walks and enjoying a nice lunch.

I could really get used to that kind of schedule! Love long weekends and family visitors. :)
